About ICHIRO
Descended from a family of traditional Japanese performers, Ichiro learned his art performing at Shinto Temples in Japan.  His art form involves elaborate costume staging, fascinating masks & precise dance choreography.  In Ichiro’s words, “from the original belief in Japan that there are said to be more than 8 million spirits living with us, so every moment we have a feast and a festival.  The mimes and dances I perform tell the stories of these spirits, the myths of our ancestors and celebrate our beliefs.”

About Lyric Hall
Lyric Hall, built in 1913, was originally The West Rock Theater, a vaudeville and silent movie house. Its life as a theater was short lived and ended after five years due to the emergence of the rival downtown theatre scene. After its closing the theater became an auto mechanic’s repair shop and remained that way for most of its existence.  In 2006, Lyric Hall was acquired by John Cavaliere, an antiques restorer, who has devoted the last few years to restoring Lyric Hall to its former glory using original materials rescued from buildings in New Haven; a balustrade rescued from the old Hyperion Theater, Doric columns from the demolished porch of the 1842 Root House on Alden Street and a restored Beaux-arts crystal and bronze-gilt chandelier that Cavaliere found in an antique shop.
